1. Who we are

Sojourner is operated by Sojourner Technology Inc., a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation. Our registered office is 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, Delaware 19958, United States.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide. We collect information you submit when you contact us, join the beta, or use the services. This may include your name, email address, organization, region, interests, messages, and consent choices.

Content. We process content you provide to Sojourner and content from third-party services that you choose to connect. The information available to Sojourner depends on the permissions you grant.

Log and device information. When you visit sojourner.world, we collect your IP address, approximate location, browser, device type, operating system, user agent, referring page, campaign information, and the date and time of your request.

Usage information. We collect information about public pages you visit and how you interact with them, including visit duration, scrolling, links and sharing actions, beta-form activity, public-document activity, site performance, and browser errors.

Cookies. The public website uses a visitor identifier that expires after 180 days and a session identifier that expires after two hours. These identifiers help us understand visits and site performance.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the services; respond to requests; administer the beta; operate connections you authorize; understand site performance; prevent fraud or misuse; and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use private content or content from connected services to train a shared or foundation model unless you choose to contribute it for that purpose.

4. How we disclose information

We disclose information to service providers that help us operate the services and to third-party services that you choose to connect. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights or safety of users and the services, or in connection with a financing, reorganization, acquisition, or sale. We do not sell personal information or use it for behavioral advertising.

5. Retention

Raw public analytics records, including IP addresses, are retained for up to 90 days. Approximate location is calculated on our server using a locally stored MaxMind GeoLite database.

Other information is retained for as long as needed to provide the services, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and resolve requests. Retention may also depend on the settings and policies of a connected third-party service.

6. Controls and choices

You can manage cookies through your browser, disconnect supported third-party services, and unsubscribe from optional communications. Private content does not become community knowledge unless you choose to contribute it.

Information sent to a third-party service is also subject to that service’s controls and retention policies.

7. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Sojourner is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and in other locations where authorized providers operate.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to the processing of personal information. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

9. Children

The public website and beta are not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy and revise its effective date.
